I got serious about photography about five years ago in connection with my other hobby, SCUBA diving. The new advances in digital photography sparked my creative passion. It is so important to me to never have strong expectations that photographing a subject should turn out a certain way in order to be a success. I look for the delight in a mundate location just expecting the unexpected. My main inspiraton is developing my own personal vision and style in photography. My goal is to create images that is left to the viewer's imagination to tell the story through creative light, composition, color, and, at times, abstraction to depict more fantasy than reality. For my underwater photography, I am using a Nikon D200, with a Subal Housing and two Inon Z240 strobes. For my topside photography, I am using the Nikon D3 professional camera. One of my favorite underwater photos, "Flower of the Sea," has been published in a national photographic magazine. Since then I have had a variety of pictures published in various trade magazines, and won numerous photo contests. The South Hampton Garden Club, Houston, TX commissioned me to design a book cover for their 2008 Garden Club Book: "On the Road Again, Seeing Texas Through Flowers." My car racing photos made the cover of the Lone Star Porsche Club magazine, As a member of the Houston Underwater Photographic Society, I have enjoyed the specialized classes, contests, and a sense of the underwater community. Recently I joined the Houston Inner Loop Photo Club, and hope to emulate the numerous combined skills of the more experienced member photographers.
